Patients with serious breathing difficulties, respiratory tract injuries are prohibited to use.

1. Gather the pediatric closed suctioning system, suction machine, and sterile equipment.
2. Ensure the suction machine is functional.
3. Check components for damage or contamination.
4. Evaluate the child's respiratory status and tolerance.
5. Determine suctioning need based on secretions.
6. Place the child in a comfortable position (supine/head elevated).
7. Ensure the airway is clear and accessible.
8. Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure.
9. Cleanse mouth/airway with sterile saline.
10. Connect catheter to the suction machine securely.
11. Adjust suction pressure to recommended pediatric levels.
12. Lubricate the catheter with sterile saline.
13. Gently insert to the appropriate depth.
14. Apply suction while withdrawing the catheter slowly.
15. Observe secretions and monitor for child discomfort.
16. Discontinue suctioning and turn off the machine.
17. Withdraw the catheter and monitor the child's status.
