1. Gather the pediatric closed suctioning system, suction machine, and sterile equipment.

3. Evaluate child's respiratory status and place them in a comfortable supine or head-elevated position.
4. Ensure airway is clear; maintain sterile technique with gloves.
5. Connect catheter to suction machine and adjust pressure to recommended pediatric levels.
6. Lubricate catheter and gently insert to the appropriate depth.
7. Apply suction by pressing control button while withdrawing catheter slowly.
